Teresa of Islay Wildscapes has spent much time over many years on Islay as a landscape and wildlife photographer and these experiences and images now translate into her Craft Collections reflecting the islands landscape, wildlife history and special qualities of light. Knitwear

In each collection you will find beautiful handknitted beanie hats, headbands, and neckwarmers to keep you warm when you are out and about enjoying countryside walks, walking the dog, birdwatching, gardening, fishing or working in the countryside.

The handcrafted knitwear is designed and knitted by Teresa of Islay Wildscapes by blending colours and textures of yarn inspired by the dramatic, everchanging and vibrant hebridean landscapes of Islay.

This method of knitting makes every item absolutely unique. The knitwear items are soft, lightweight, practical and comfortable to wear and robust enough for everyday hard wear whilst at the same time looking stylish and headturning. The beautiful colours reflect Islay’s landscape with its rugged hills and coastline with cliffs and sandy beaches backdropped by stormy skies and stunning sunsets.

Islay Wildscapes Handspun Art Yarns

Teresa creates unique pure wool hand spun Art Yarns inspired by the vibrant landscape and habitat colours of Islay. The wools can be used by crafters for felting, weaving, tapestry, hand knitting, and crochet.

Natural handspun wools

Sheep fleeces of Scottish and Northern England sheep breeds are selected by Teresa. She then carefully and painstakingly cleans the fleece, teases, cards, spins, plies and washes again the wool before it is ready to use by crafters for knitting, crochet, weaving, tapestry and felting. She specialises in creating natural coloured chunky and bulky art yarns.

The natural handspun yarns are also handcrafted by Teresa into decorative items for the home such as table runners.
